ReBloom SD exists to give flowers a second life. We partner with weddings, events, florists, and retail stores across San Diego to collect and restyle fresh blooms into handcrafted bouquets.
Volunteers hand-deliver bouquets to senior living and memory care communities, veterans’ programs, shelters, and home-delivered meal programs.

Who is behind ReBloom SD

Flowers have always brightened my day, San Diego is a popular wedding and event destination, and I wanted to spend more committed time connecting and giving back to the community. That's where ReBloom SD started.
My parents reside in a senior living facility and my dad is an Army veteran. When I visit, I see how much an unexpected kindness (a simple "hello," a visitor, or flowers) can change the shape of someone's day. Not every resident gets those moments, and the same is true in other care communities and beyond. Those are the people I want these blooms to reach.
It turned out my career had prepared me for this. I spent more than twenty years in sales and distribution, getting the right thing to the right place at the right time. That’s a lot of what flower rescue is. The part I always loved most was connecting with people, and I get to do that with ReBloom SD, too.
What started as a few hours a week has become more than I expected, a bride's centerpiece on Saturday becomes a stranger's reason to smile on Sunday. I've met wonderful people, found a new way to use the skills I've built over the years, and discovered how much meaning can come from something as simple as a flower. Every bouquet is delivered at no cost to the recipient, made possible by the florists, couples, volunteers, and supporters behind this work.
