Flowers are still beautiful even when the party is over.

ReBloom SD is a San Diego nonprofit committed to reducing waste and providing community care. We turn moments of celebration into moments of kindness, one bouquet at a time.

We believe that small acts of care can have a lasting impact and that beauty should never be wasted. ReBloom SD is a San Diego nonprofit rooted in sustainability, generosity, and connection.

ReBloom SD exists to give flowers a second life. We partner with weddings, events, florists, and retail stores across San Diego to collect and restyle fresh blooms into handcrafted bouquets.

Volunteers hand-deliver bouquets to hospitals, hospice facilities, veterans' care centers, local shelters, senior living communities and others in the area.

Our Commitments

RESCUE

Beauty deserves a second life.

Every week, flowers from weddings and events across San Diego end up in the trash after a single day. A flower's beauty can uplift, comfort, and bring joy — we believe every repurposed bloom deserves the chance to share those feelings again.

CONNECT

Every bouquet creates a human moment.

Our volunteers arrange rescued flowers, each tagged with a note of care. Through these efforts, our volunteers are reminded of the simple power of giving to others in our San Diego community.

CARE

Small acts of kindness can make someone feel seen.

Every bouquet is hand delivered bringing a moment of connection. That human moment is the soul of every delivery —a gentle token of grace that brightens a room and uplifts the spirit of those who need it most.

San Diego doesn't just have amazing weather.

It has amazing people.

Who is behind ReBloom SD

Helene Venegas, President & Founder —

I spent more than twenty years in sales and distribution, building relationships and getting the right thing to the right place at the right time, which turns out to be most of what flower rescue is. Personal connection has always been the part I loved most.

My parents live in a senior living community, and my dad is a retired Army veteran, so I've seen up close how much a small, unexpected kindness can change the shape of someone's day.

Flowers have always brought me joy. After my kids graduated, I found myself with time I wanted to give back to the San Diego community, and ReBloom SD is what that turned into: a bride's centerpiece on Saturday becomes a stranger's reason to smile on Sunday.

What started as a way to give back a few hours a week became so much more than I expected. The impact reaches not just the recipients but the volunteers, the couples, the florists, everyone who touches the flowers along the way. We give the bouquets away for free, and we get paid in smiles (and sometimes joyful tears) every single day!

ReBloom SD was incorporated in California in 2026 and files annually with the IRS and the California Attorney General's Registry of Charities. Financial statements are available on request at smile@rebloomsd.org.
